NEW – New Tecumseth Youth Advisory Committee

The mandate of this Committee is to provide advice and make recommendations to Council with regard to matters that interest and/or may affect youth in the Town of New Tecumseth, to keep Council informed of youth objectives and opportunities and to provide youth with a forum to contribute to the development of the Town of New Tecumseth.

The mandate of this Committee is to investigate options to generate revenue from sources other than taxation and resident user fees.

Accessibility Advisory Committee

This committee provides information to the Mayor and Members of Council about the Ontarians with Disabilities Act; the Town’s requirements under the Act and to recommend a course of action. The Committee has prepared an Accessibility Plan with a goal to maximize the independence and dignity of all individuals in our community and to create a consumer-friendly community with opportunities for everyone’s participation in the life of the Town of New Tecumseth. The Accessibility Plan is updated annually and posted on the Town’s website.

Alliston Memorial Arena Upgrades Task Force

The task force provides advice to Council on what repairs/upgrades can be undertaken at the Alliston Memorial Arena to meet the needs of users/renters and coordinates with community groups and renters in the implementation of all upgrades.

Banting Heritage Park Coordinating Committee

Beeton Facility Planning Task Force – Application Form – 2014-2018 (PDF)

This task force provides advice to Council in respect of the principals and guidelines that may shape the conceptual design and development of a new multi-use Beeton Community Centre. They create opportunities for community and stakeholder in-put, consultation and feedback in order to assist in the identification of community needs and requirements.

Committee of Adjustment

This five (5) member committee is established under the authority of the Planning Act to grant minor variances from the provisions of by-laws passed under the Planning Act and to give consents under the Planning Act.

Heritage New Tecumseth Advisory Committee

Heritage New Tecumseth Advisory Committee – Application Form – 2014-2018 (PDF)

The Heritage New Tecumseth Advisory Committee was established to advise and assist Council, staff, and citizens on matters relating to the Parts IV and V of the Ontario Heritage Act, that being matters relating to the designation of heritage properties and the establishment of heritage conservation districts.

New Tecumseth Improvement Society Board

The New Tecumseth Improvement Society was incorporated under the Canadian Corporations Act in February 1999. The Letters Patent outlined that the objects of the Corporation are to construct, hold and manage a water pipeline from Collingwood to Alliston.

New Tecumseth Public Library Board

This board is established under the authority of the Public Libraries Act for a four (4) year term to provide programs and services to meet the educational, informational, cultural, recreational and leisure needs of all individuals and organizations within the community, to promote the library within the community and to actively encourage the widest possible use of its services and facilities and to seek continually to identify and evaluate community needs and to provide materials, programmes and services to meet such needs.

Museum on the Boyne Advisory Committee

This Committee reviews and makes recommendations regarding policies and by-laws related to the museum and associated out buildings, the museum collection, the educational program and new acquisitions as well as the promotion of public awareness of the museum.
