Notice to Residents: Door-to-door sales

 The Town of New Tecumseth has had a number of recent inquiries from residents regarding door-to-door sales (i.e. water filters, water heaters). Please be advised that the Town of New Tecumseth does not conduct door-to-door sales. If Town staff visit your home for various reasons, they will have proper identification and will typically be in an official Town of New Tecumseth vehicle. If you have had a similar experience or suspect impersonation of Town staff members, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Town’s infrastructure which includes municipal roads and bridges, storm sewers, stormwater management ponds, sidewalks, municipal parking lots, streetlights, traffic signals, street signage, boulevard trees, fire hydrants, water meters, water distribution systems and reservoirs, wastewater collection systems, pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants.

The Department also provides various services including street sweeping, line painting, gravel maintenance, ditching, pavement repairs, winter control, streetlight and traffic signal repairs, maintenance of the urban cores, flushing and swabbing of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems, water sampling, curbstop repairs, water shut offs, watermain breaks, sewer blockages, septage receiving, sewer camera inspections and service locate requests. In addition, the department works in cooperation with the County of Simcoe’s Environmental Services Department on waste management and recycling initiatives.
